Carroll S. Knott

Joined USAAF 8 Dec. 1941. He was selected to fly the P-38 and saw duty with the 49th Squadron, 14th FG in Tunisia from May to August of 1943. He had 5 official kills, but I found out after his death that his unofficial total was more than double that. He served up to the end of the war and died in California in 1986 at the age of 70.
