| Edward Sims Seward was commended for "valuable assistance in administering first aid" during an air raid at an advanced Southwest Pacific base of the "fightin' 13th" AAF. The citation issued by his commanding officer declared: "I wish to commend highly the medical enlisted personnel prewent during the air raid....They began their work while the raid was still in progress at personal risk of bodily injury to themselves and discharged their duties efficiently. Their assistance in administering first aid was invaluable." Cpl. Seward was one of seven men named. |
