I have been interested in the 8th Air Force and B-17's since I was little. I grew up watching films like Twelve O' Clock High and The War Lover. I have had the priviledge of knowing many veterans of the 8th, including the late Col. Robert Morgan, and remain a member of the 8th Air Force Association. My second cousin, 2nd Lt. Charles J Ingraham was a navigator with the 379th Bomb group in England, and became a POW after being shot down in November 1944. My passion is preserving the history of the 8th for future generations, and honoring the men who forged that history. I am a former Navy reservist, civilian pilot, and member of the Commemorative Air Force, and have served on the B-17, Texas Raiders, in addition to leading a living history bomber crew in Illinois. I am eager to bring the members of USAAF living history groups together, both in the US and England, and preserve the proud tradition of our WWII veterans. |
