Joseph Goetz

We are a group of English people living in Western France. Joseph was shot down on return to UK from a mission to Bordeaux on 21 March 1944. Local French people still honour his memory on this day every year in the field where he fell - the Mayor comes to the site and the Last Post is sounded. We have the mission briefing and the de-briefing reports of the crash from two other pilots on the mission. But we know nothing about Joseph himself and are now looking for his family. Joseph was 21 years old when he died and so was born in 1922 or 1923. His service number was 122269 and he was flying with the 335 Fighter Wing. We would be very pleased if people can help us find his people or anything about him personally. Regards to you all, Jane Cooper
