| My father Leroy Nelson served with the 8th Air Force. He was a tail gunner on a B-17. He served until 1945.I do not know the name of his
group or squadron and have look at many photos of all the groups. He made it home from that war and had 2 more children, my sister and I.
He reinlisted and served with the 581st.On September 8th 1955, he was serving as a flight engineer On the Flying Nightmare, that B-29 went down on a low level night mission, all 13 aboard were lost. Neal Nelson |
