Russell, James A.
Drafted into U.S. Army, 1941. Entered aviation cadet program at Maxwell AFB, AL in February 1942. Graduated pilot training and commissioned 2nd Lt, USAAF. Trained in B-17 and assiged to 94th Bombardment Group (H) in North Africa. Flew 50 missions from North Africa and Italy and returned to States.
Assigned as instructer pilot in Texas and trained in the B-29.
Remained in Air Force until 1963. Retired as Lt. Colonel. Is now 92 years of age and resides with his wife of 60 years in Montgomery, Alabama.
