Aloysius S. Underwood

Originally from Richmond Hill, NY. Mr. Underwood was in the 97th Bombardment Heavy parent unit, unit six. He was in the Middle East Theatre - Libya. His bomber was shot down over Germany where he remained in POW Stalag 17B until the end of WWII. He died in 1968 of a blood disorder believed to be related to malnutrition as a result of being a POW. He leaves behind his wife June. Sons, Craig, Robert, James. Daughters, Christine and Lisa.
