Capt. Harrell E. Henry Ford12-22-1943, what was going to be their last mission (35). Their target 2nd & 20th Combat Bombardment Wings; Osnabruck 14th Combat Bonbbardment Wing: Munster. Capt. Ford's aircraft was #015-D sq 328(B-24). Target Osnabruck, 2ndary Munster. At the last minute Hayden replaced Robert McCaffery. After arriving at their destination & dropping their bomb on the 2ndary target, (14.52) the Group was hit by fighters & flak. There were no friendly fighters, because of being behind in the schedule. Of the 5 aircraft lost by the 93rd that day, reports say at least 2 crashed over the target area. Ford & crew were listed as MIA.
